Magazine Front Cover Analysis

• The image of the model for the magazine, Jessica Alba, covers part of the masthead, which highlights her significance in this issue and also makes her the central focal point.
• Buttons and banners help to make the magazine look more aesthetically pleasing and provide spaces to add different or extra pieces of information.
• The background of the magazine is pink, which corresponds with stereotypical feminine colours and therefore attract the target audience.
• The frequent use of the colour black helps to establish a colour scheme and also matches with the format of the front cover.
• The use of different fonts and text sizes also help the magazine to be more appealing and specific headings will help to catch the reader’s eye.
• The layout of the magazine has been organised to almost imitate the shape of the Jessica Alba’s figure, which helps to outline her femininity and sex appeal.
• The font is capitalised as well as colour co-ordinated, both white and black are frequently used and pair well with the different shades of pink as well. The use of monochrome also provides a sense of formality and elegance.
